StellaCoin

What Money *Should* Be
The Bulldogs are #1, and Stella is #1 among bulldogs. Though a Georgia fan, she spent much of the last two years on Beacon Hill in Boston and intends to be at the top of the hill of dog coins and CAT coins.
StellaCoin hopes to become the basis for a new monetary ecosystem that will revolutionize the way we buy and sell things. For now, that's just a hope. StellaCoin exists as an asset, but StellaCoin's roadmap is still in the conceptualization stage. Today Stella is just another dog among dog coins, and StellaCoin is just another CAT among Chia Asset Tokens. But we’re enthusiastic about StellaCoin’s decision to take up residence on the Chia blockchain—the same blockchain chosen by the World Bank to track intenational greenhouse gas mitigation efforts because of its environmental soundness and technological superioirty. The smartcoin functionality of the Chia blockchain provides an array of opportunities for future use cases, including those that haven’t yet even been imagined. Though we hope to make StellaCoin the center of an ecosystem that will take advantage of the Chia blockchain's capacity for multiple mintings to provide for extensibility and contractibility in response to changes in demand, StellaCoin itself is a single-mint token: there will only ever be 7 million StellaCoin. At this point we can’t make any promises about where it is going or why, but if you want a piece of the future of StellaCoin, it’s already trading on a peer-to-peer basis on OfferBin.io and OfferPool.io, using the Chia network’s groundbreaking “offer files” that allow pairs of anonymous accounts to make trades without prior arrangements or third party involvement.

How to buy & sell StellaCoin

StellaCoin is a Chia Asset Token (CAT) that trades on the Chia blockchain using Offer Files that can be posted on and downloaded from sites like Dexie and TibetSwap. Currently, in order to buy and sell StellaCoin, you need to have a Chia Wallet installed on a computer running Windows, Linux, or macOS. (Alternatively, you can use a mobile wallet, such as the one available from Pawket, which we have used with StellaCoin. There are several other mobile Chia wallets available now, but not all of them support CATs like StellaCoin effectively.) Normally—if you don't already own some Chia—the way to buy StellaCoin (STDG) would be to buy Chia (XCH) first (such as by the process described on the Chia Network website) and use that to purchase StellaCoin by making or accepting an offer in an Offer File. Before making or accepting an offer on StellaCoin (or any other CAT that isn't already known to the Chia Wallet), you should add StellaCoin to your wallet, so that the Wallet program knows what to look for. Procedures for adding tokens may differ from one type of wallet to another and may change slightly over time, but should in general be pretty straightforward. On the current official Chia client, you would click on "Manage Token List", click on the plus sign, and then enter the name StellaCoin (and/or the symbol STDG) and the Asset ID:

(You can also copy and paste the ID from Taildatabase, and some wallets will interact with Taildatabase directly.) Procedures for making and accepting offers should also be pretty straightforward. The official Chia client has an "Offers" tab that you access by clicking the "Offers" button on the left side. Generally offers can be used both as files or by copying and pasting the text of the offer (not human-readable). If you use TibetSwap, it may instruct you to create an offer and paste it onto the page.

(Note: When you use the usual process and purchase USDS via Stably Prime Trust, as described in the Chia Network link above, depending on what method you use to fund the account, it can take more than two weeks for the transaction to clear. If you have another cryptocurrency account, it may be possible to make a deposit of stablecoins directly, which could be much faster. Also, you can now buy Chia (XCH) directly on Crypto.com if you have an account, and you can then transfer it to the address for your Chia wallet.)
